Best Mocktail Recipes for HKB by Spirited Box

We partnered with Spirited Box to create several mocktail recipes for our box recipients since alcohol plus cancer is somewhat taboo. Spirited Box is a subscription box company that provides alcohol-free recipes, ingredients, and/or tools for elaborate mocktail concoctions along with inspirational and encouraging tidbits for living a healthy, sober life.

I Feel Pretty Drink - Sweet. Floral.

Drink this special beverage in a champagne flute or a fancy glass because it FEELS prettier that way. Freshly squeezed juice will taste best, but in a pinch out of a jar, can, or carton will do just fine.


2 oz chilled hibiscus tea*

2 oz orange juice

1/2 oz lime juice 1/4 tsp agave syrup (can substitute with simple syrup or honey)

citrus rind

pinch of cinnamon


In a cocktail shaker with ice, shake the tea, orange juice, lime juice and agave. Strain into the glass and top with a twist of citrus rind. Dust the rind with cinnamon for an extra dose of sassy.


*One mug of tea brewed and chilled will serve multiple drinks. Give freshly brewed tea about 20 minutes to cool off. This is just enough time to enjoy a face mask. #winning

Distract Me Drink - Tart. Sour.

Smashing the blueberries is a great way to pound out a little frustration, knowing that your efforts will be rewarded with a deliciously tart beverage. Freshly squeezed will taste best, but in a pinch, out of a jar, can, or carton will do just fine.

1/4 cup fresh blueberries, cleaned and stemmed

5-6 fresh mint leaves

2 oz lemon juice

1/2 oz simple syrup*

2 oz soda water

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the blueberries and mint leaves. Add lemon juice and simple syrup and shake with ice. Strain over ice and top with soda water. In the palm of your hand, press the mint to release the oils from the herb and use for garnish.


*Make simple syrup by combining 1 part water and 1 part sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until the liquid is reduced by about half. Cool and store in the fridge for a week or two. Try adding ginger or herbs for extra flavor.

Surgery Strength Drink - Simple. Refreshing.

Let this simple mocktail transport you to a beautiful tropical retreat. Simple to make and even easier to enjoy.


Cucumber, about 1" thick round

1.5 oz pineapple juice

3 oz coconut water


In a cocktail shaker, muddle the cucumber, pineapple juice and coconut water. Strain over ice and top with a slice of cucumber.


Bonus points for serving in a tropical themed glass.
